The mobile revolution in India has seen great proliferation of mobiles across the country. More than just a utility, it’s now a passion to own a mobile in India these days. Since the launch of mobile phones in India in the last decade, mobile phone services have grown rapidly. In 2005, mobile users exceed the total number of landline subscriber count in the country.
When mobile phones were first introduced, the cost of a call was around INR 35 per call. Both incoming and outgoing calls would be charged. However, what was seen as a luxury item became a widespread and national phenomenon when the cost of calls was dropped to around one rupee per minute per call.
