What is a reverse cell phone lookup? As the name suggests it’s a system used by many people in order to find information about cellular numbers which are not listed on the white pages. They are telephone directories that contain all (well.. the best databases out there contain ~95% of the mobile numbers) the mobile numbers and various other information of cell phone users. The white pages does not have this information. It only has land phone subscriber information.

Why doesn’t the white pages have wireless numbers? There’s something called the ‘Wireless 411 Privacy Act’. This and other privacy laws are meant to protect wireless phone user privacy rights. If cellular numbers are published on free public directories like the whitepages, their privacy will not be protected anymore. This is why there are no telephone directories for cell phones. Have you seen a phone book for Verizon, T-mobile etc? Now you know why!

What information about the phone owner can you find? Depending on the service you pick you can gather the following information:

* Cell phone carrier and location of registration
* Name and address of the owner with a map
* Other telephone numbers he/she possesses
* Relatives, associates, neighbors
* Previous residence/addresses held by the phone owner.

Is it true that you can get inaccurate information from some of the databases? Yes, this is especially true with directories that are not frequently updated. As you know people change their wireless phone subscriptions, sign up for new plans etc. etc. Therefore, unless you use the most up-to-date databases, there is no guarantee that you will get accurate results.

A simple yet Killer tip!
Check your own number first. Check your friend’s number. Does it predict the city, state and wireless carrier for these numbers correctly? If no, leave the site immediately. If yes, go ahead and trace that cell number right away!
